Ryan and Sean have fallen in love with a 1990's television show called "Beakman's World." If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's a crazy guy doing one science experiment after another. He always explains the science behind the experiments and the kids learn a lot.
There is one episode where Beakman is asked to explain "how rockets work." He builds a rocket out of a soda bottle and shoots it off. In the mean time, he explains Newton's third law of motion and its role in rocketry.
The kids have been begging their dad to help them build a rocket. Beakman's rocket involved four items. That simply wasn't good enough for Nate. He downloaded the directions to build a rocket that included a launching pad. It took him and the boys two days and about 45 dollars. But, he has so little time with his kids. How could I complain? I hope you enjoy these videos! I'm so proud of Nate and the kids. It was the coolest family night ever.
P.S. If you don't want to watch 500 videos, you can get the gist by watching the one called "in the sky."

Coming Home
We drove through Arizona so that we could stop in Phoenix and see Daddy. I was shocked by how beautiful the state was. You'd think that being sandwiched between New Mexico and Nevada, the state would look like them. Nope ! Arizona is amazing. We stopped at one ravine that has a driving bridge over it called "The Navajo Bridge." Ryan and Sean decided it must be the Grand Canyon. They were very excited. There are also a couple pictures of the kids at Chuck E. Cheese during our stop in Phoenix.
